Niagara Lions Club to host annual rifle and meat raffle

NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Lions Club will sponsor its annual winter meat and rifle raffle Saturday at the Country Bar in Niagara.

Festivities begin at noon with the first meat raffle drawing, followed by the firearms drawings starting at about 5 p.m.

Lion Tim Potterville of Northwoods IGA will supply a full selection of meat delicacies. Raffle winners will choose from among an assortment that includes various steaks, including rib eye, tenderloin, New York strip and T-bones; along with pork chops, pork steak, pork loins, ham and bacon.

This year’s selection of firearms are: first, Henry Steel Case Handened Side Gate 45-70 22-inch Oct, walnut; second, Ruger American Gen II Bolt 6.5 Creed Gray Splatter 20-inch; third, Savage Stevens 555 20 GA compact single bbl. trap 26-inch, walnut; fourth, Savage 110 Trail Hunter 270 Win 4 round 22-inch Bolt; fifth, Mossberg Patriot Synthetic Vortex Scoped 30-06 22-inch Bolt; sixth, Savage 334 Walnut 243 Win 20-inch 3 round Bolt; seventh, GForce GF5 Filthy Pheasant 12 GA 28-inch, walnut; eighth, Savage 334 Walnut 30-06 20-inch; ninth, Adamson Unique SP 28 GA 28-inch aluminum O/U;10th, Winchester SXP Field 12 gauge Pump 26-inch, matte hardwood stock.

The rifles are now on display at area taverns. Tickets are currently available locally at those taverns and other local businesses; as well as Ducey’s Guns & Ammo in Pembine, Wis., and the C&R Bar in Aurora, Wis.

Tickets can also be purchased at the event. Cost is $10 per ticket or three for $20. Winners do need not need to be present.

In addition to the major prize drawings, they will have a special raffle starting at 2:30 p.m. These special games give participants a chance to win prizes, including additional firearms.

There will also be 50-50 drawings throughout the event.

The Country Bar sandwich menu will be available for food, along with refreshments.

This is always a great event with excellent meat prizes and outstanding exceptional rifles and other prizes that will be a terrific way to battle the wintertime blues and blahs, a club spokesperson said.

Proceeds from the sale will help the Lions continue their long tradition of financially supporting many community projects.

The Country Bar is west of Niagara on County O in the Town of Niagara.
