Author Garcia at Florence County Library on Saturday

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence County Library will host author Jessie Garcia at 10 a.m. Saturday at the library.
Like “The Business Trip,” Garcia’s sophomore thriller “The Fair Weather Friend” is set in the world of television news, one that she’s intimately familiar with having worked in newsrooms for over 30 years.
In this “whodunit,” Garcia introduces a popular Detroit meteorologist, Faith Richards, who is endearingly referred to as “The Fair Weather Friend” by her viewers and appears to have the world by the tail. But one night, Faith leaves work on a dinner break and never returns, only to have her body found the next morning.
The list of suspects questioned about her death is a long one. There’s her stalker, Steve; her bitter college roommate, Kelly; a couple of overzealous fan club members; and her jealous meteorologist colleague, Matthew.
The town is reeling as suspects emerge and long-buried secrets are uncovered. While her allies rally, her list of adversaries grows. Little does anyone know that only the deepest secrets will expose the truth.

Told in Garcia’s multiple POV, rapid-fire style, “The Fair Weather Friend” is a wild ride filled with dark humor, quirky characters, and some very unexpected twists.
Everyone is invited to the library to meet the author and listen to her talk.
Books will be available for sale and light snacks and refreshments will be served.
