IRON MOUNTAIN — The Art Student Association hosted its fourth Artist of the Month luncheon of the 2025-2026 school year on March 11 at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain.
Student artists, art teachers and special guest artist Laura Bailey discussed each piece of artwork and creative processes during lunch.
After the discussion, Bailey led an engaging hands-on demonstration on how to create a sketchbook using an accordion-fold technique. The activity highlighted how creativity can be found everywhere and encouraged students to continue exploring new artistic approaches in their sketchbooks.
The ASA extends its appreciation to the Chippewa Club for hosting the group and to Bailey for sharing her time, talent, and inspiration with the young artists.
The ASA Art Show will take place April 20 at Kingsford High School. This year’s theme, “Among the Stars,” is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” The public gallery viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 6 p.m. The community is invited to attend and help celebrate the remarkable work of these talented young artists.
The organization looks forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces as they honor their creativity and achievements.
