FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Historical Society will have its first meeting of the new season at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall in Florence.

The agenda will focus on new exhibits, activities and ideas for the organization.

The museum, at 201 Florence Ave., is scheduled to open Saturday, June 13, with recognition of all veterans and their families.

New items have been added to the veterans’ room, with additional information on the Grand Army of the Republic military men from the Civil War.

The annual Quilt Show and Strawberry Social fundraiser is planned for Saturday, July 18. Area quilters are encouraged to participate in the event at Maxsells Suites and Celebrations on Central Avenue.

More information will be announced as the events draw closer.

Interested individuals are welcomed and encouraged to attend the meeting.
