Genealogical Society to meet Thursday in CF
CRYSTAL FALLS — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Harbour House Museum, 17 N. Fourth St. in Crystal Falls.
Participants should note the change of time and venue.
A representative of the Harbour House Museum will present a program about Agnes Davies, a survivor of the fateful Titanic ocean liner disaster. After the ship hit an iceberg during her maiden voyage and began to sink, Davies was among the fortunate ones who was able to board a lifeboat. Once picked up by another ship, she was transported to New York City and from there she traveled to Calumet, where she settled.
Davies is a cousin to Chris Johnson, president of the Harbour House Museum.
Members are reminded dues are now payable.
Visitors are welcome.
Regular monthly meetings are open to all individuals and usually are in the J. Patrick White conference room of the West Iron District Library in Iron River.
