KC state free throw winner

Two local students that participated in the 2026 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest won the state of Michigan competition. Ten-year-old Kamden Kraemer of Vulcan, representing Council 9532 of Norway, and 14-year-old Samual Rossi of Felch Township, representing Council 1585 of Iron Mountain-Kingsford, were recently presented with the trophies by Michael Prokopowicz, state deputy diocesan representative, at a social gathering hosted by Council 1585 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Kingsford. The Knights of Columbus annually hosts a free throw competition for girls and boys ages 9 through 14. Council competitions take place in January, district competitions in February and regional and state finals in March.
