NIAGARA, Wis. — Niagara High School Theatre will present “Wonderland” at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the school theatre.

The public is invited to join Alice as she tumbles into a world where tea never ends, riddles have no answers, and nothing is quite what it seems.

In this original production of “Wonderland,” audiences will experience a whirlwind of unforgettable characters. The production is a student-created adaptation inspired by “Alice in Wonderland,” a public domain work, and is not a purchased script.

Students played a central role in developing scenes, costuming, music and staging.

Although theatre is not an extracurricular activity at Niagara High School, more than 45-plus students volunteered their time beyond sports and work commitments, said drama coach Ginger Anderson, noting Niagara High School has a total student body of approximately 116 students.

“This work ethic demonstrates the spirit that defines our school,” she added.

A “Meet the Cast and Crew Reception” will follow. Audience members are invited to have cake, coffee and punch while mingling with talented student actors.

Featuring student showcases will include the Niagara High School Art Department, who will display a collection of artwork in the theater lobby and the Industrial Arts Department, exhibiting woodworking and metalworking projects.

“Celebrate Mother’s Day with a delightfully strange adventure for all ages,” Anderson said.

Admission is $5 per person, and can be purchased at the door.

Starting at $3.50/week.
