Pianist Daniel to take stage at Crystal Theatre on May 8

CRYSTAL FALLS — Crystal Theatre’s 2026 “Gem of a Season” kicks off at last. After a weather delay, the grand piano is center stage as Phillip Daniel takes the spotlight at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8.

The Lincoln, Neb., native is a distinguished pianist and composer whose musical scores have been featured in dance programs and numerous films. Merging classical elements with cinematic qualities, and piano with electronics and percussion, his compositions resonate with both seasoned musicians and casual listeners, according to a news release.

Daniel has a bachelor of arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Hastings College and a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory.

In addition to his solo piano performance projects, Daniel has established a career writing music for dance.

Most recently, he has worked with the Kansas City Ballet Company.

His music has been listened to more than 100 million times and has been featured in countless films worldwide.
