IRON MOUNTAIN -- Young performers will have an opportunity to take the stage this summer in the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of "Cinderella."
Auditions are set for Monday, July 20, at the Braumart Theater in Iron Mountain. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., with auditions running from 10 a.m. to noon.
Students interested in participating should plan to stay for the entire two-hour audition period.
Some cast members may also be asked to remain for a rehearsal immediately following auditions.
The production is open to students entering first through 12th grades. No advance preparation is required.
A variety of roles are available, including Cinderella, her two stepsisters, the stepmother, Fairy Godmother, King, Prince, Cleo the Cat, Fido the Dog, Buskers, Lords and Ladies, Mice and Pumpkins.
Assistant directors will also be selected to help with rehearsals throughout the week and assist with backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring production comes complete with costumes, scenery and props.
MCT actor-directors will lead rehearsals from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. each day during the residency week.
Public performances of "Cinderella" will take place at 3 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Braumart, 106 E. B St. in Iron Mountain.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency is presented locally by Friends of the Braumart with support from the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, We Energies Foundation, Michigan Arts and Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
