Cash prizes for Dickinson Library Summer Reading

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library’s Summer Reading Program has started.

All ages may stop in at any of the three library sites to sign up and get a registration bag filled with fun freebies and a Summer Reading goal card to fill out and return for a chance to win lots of prizes.

Goal cards for pre-kindergarten and older that are returned before Sunday, Aug. 2, will be entered into a drawing for $500 to a local business of their choice. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

The library thanks Norway Dairy Queen, Norway McDonald’s, and Iron Mountain McDonald’s for incentive bookmarks and also Dr. Marjorie Funtanilla for sponsoring the Summer Reading registration bags.

The library will draw for many prizes for all ages this summer. That will include free movies, ice cream, and for all teens and adults who return their goal cards you will automatically qualify for a cash prize.

The free events will continue all summer long at all sites and will include Hunt for Bigfoot, Build a Dinosaur, dissect a squid, join a storytime, enjoy a lemonade, learn about local history, and more.

Starting at $4.00/week.
