Dickinson County Library announced upcoming events

IRON MOUNTAIN — Upcoming events at the Dickinson County Library will include —

— Cheeseburger Eggrolls with Chef Ming: Today, 1 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Chef Ming Louie will teach budding chefs, second graders and older how to make hands-on cheeseburger egg rolls. Sponsored by Brian Brouillette, Attorney at Law.

— Khafta Kabobs with Chef Ming: Today, 6 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Chef Ming Louie will teach adults, teens and tweens how to make hands-on khafta kabobs. Sponsored by The Friends of the Library.

— Norway Monthly Book Club: Thursday, 2 p.m., Solomonson Branch Library, Norway.

The book club meets monthly at the Solomonson Branch. This month’s discussion will be on “Troublesome Women” by Marie Bostwick. New members are always welcome.

— Archaic Art: Friday, 5 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Kids ages 7 to 12 are welcome to come decorate planters they will be able to take home. Registration is required; call 906-774-1218.

— In the Shadow of the Big Red Eye: Monday, 6 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

All ages can join producer, lead investigator and New Jersey native Mike Familant as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America’s most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot. Sponsored by First National Bank.

— Book Breakdowns: Todd Worple: Tuesday, 6 p.m., Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Local author Todd Worple will share his book “Call of the Raven” with audiences, as well as his inspiration for the story, writing and publishing tips, and a question-and-answer session. Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing.

— Messy Bubble Adventures: Thursday, June 25, 10 a.m., North Dickinson Branch Library, Felch Township.

Kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to get messy and play with bubbles. There will be stations to make volcanoes erupt, excavate rocks, and find hidden gems. Sponsored by the Honorable Thomas D. Slagle.

— Rock On!: Monday, June 29, 1 p.m., Dickinson County Library, Iron Mountain.

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Science Center will leave no stone unturned as participants identify some of earth’s wondrous rocks, minerals and everything in between. For ages 8 and up. Sponsored by Dr. Dale and Lucy Shampo.

— 3D Printing Exploration: Tuesday, June 30, 4 p.m., Dickinson County Library, Iron Mountain.

Toysinbox will give a hands-on 3D printing demonstration for ages 8-plus; participants will get to create a miniature to take home. Registration required; call 906-774-1218. Sponsored by BOSS Snowplow.
