Alexander Erickson, a 2026 Kingsford High School graduate, has been awarded the $1,000 Dickinson County Area Veterans Alliance Scholarship for 2026 and 2027. The amount will be distributed as $500 each for the fall and winter semesters. His selection was based on a 1,000-word patriotic essay. Erickson plans to study law enforcement at Bay Community College Iron Mountain Campus and is already employed part-time at the Dickinson County Jail.
