‘Let’s Talk Gardening’ series to start July 1

MARINETTE, Wis. — Northern Lights Master Gardeners and the Marinette Senior Center will continue its summer series of “Let’s Talk Gardening.”

The free classes will be at 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. The next class is set for Wednesday, July 1, with the final class being on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The event takes place at the Marinette Senior Center, 1603 Ludington St., Marinette.

Gardeners of all ages and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The hour-long sessions will cover a wide variety of timely topics presented by local gardeners. There will also be time for open discussion to answer any questions.

The series is designed to help gardeners throughout the entire growing season.

The July “Let’s Talk Gardening‚” subjects will be growing great garlic, fertilizing mid-season and solving problems from plant diseases.

Cultivated for more than 5,000 years, garlic is one of the oldest cultivated crops in the world. In addition, the program will detail why fertilizing throughout the growing season is so important, and the best way to keep plants healthy. They will also focus on a couple of the most common 80,000 known plant diseases.
