FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Historical Society will have its annual Strawberry Social and Quilt Show on Saturday in Florence.

A lovely display of items made by local quilters will be ready to view from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maxsells Suites and Celebrations, the historic home at 209 Central Ave./U.S. 2 in Florence.

Attendees can enjoy strawberry shortcake and beverage on the patio overlooking Fisher Lake or at a table in the yard.

There is no charge to view the quilts. The strawberry shortcake and beverage are an annual fundraiser for the historical society, so a minimum $5 donation is appreciated. Funds are used to purchase supplies needed to care for donated items and various displays at the museum.

Tickets for the society’s raffle will be available throughout the summer at the museum, from members and at the quilt show. A quilt in an “Amish Stars” design, made and donated by local quilter Joan Spears and long-armed by Patti Wabitsch, is the first prize in the raffle that will end on Sept. 5. The quilt and other prizes made and donated by local crafters will be on display at the quilt show.

Starting at $4.00/week.
