Bench dedicated at Niagara meal site to Bernice Kadulski

NIAGARA, Wis. -- When the family of Bernice Kadulski decided to make a donation in her memory, they selected a place where she enjoyed spending time -- the Niagara senior meal site.
“This was always a very special place for Bernice. She always played bingo. She always enjoyed her friends,” said daughter Bernadine Clement.
Kadulski was also well-known and well-liked at the meal site. They decided to also honor her memory by using some of the donation to purchase a bench in her honor.
The bench was purchased off Facebook market place and refinished. A padded seat was made by assistant cook Debbie Seely. The bench also has a plaque created by BK Enterprises with Kadulski’s name. Some of the donation was also used for a pizza party for all who attended the meal site that day.
“We thought that’s a part of Bernice that will live on here forever,” said Deb Kallenbach, site manager and head cook.
Clement said Kadukski has been a resident of Niagara since 1942. She passed away at age 100 on April 2, 2026. For her 100th birthday on Dec. 10, she had a party at the Niagara Community Center, which houses the meal site.
Kadulski was born in Norway and married Lester Kaduski. After his early death, she raised seven children including Tami Kadulski, Darlene Kadulski, Bernadine Clement and Tim Kadulski, and the late, Carol, Sharon, Dan.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church for 84 years, the Christian Mothers’ Guild, Royal Neighbors, Marinette County Homemakers’, the American Legion Auxiliary, a Red-Hatter and the Shawl Ministry. She belonged to the women’s golf league at Oak Crest and bowled with a great group of friends at Doug’s Lanes in Niagara.
The Niagara site serves meals on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
