CCW to host ‘Road Rally’ Oct. 10 in Iron River

2 min read

IRON RIVER -- The Community Christian Women group will host a "Road Rally" at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, starting at the Windsor Center.

"A Road Rally," explained Sylvia Lindwall, CCW member, "is like a scavenger hunt on wheels."

At the Windsor Center, participants will be split up into teams and given a starting clue that will describe the location of the next checkpoint. Teams will carpool to each subsequent location, following clues to determine where to go. Each location will have a small gift and another clue.

When all the teams arrive at the finish line, they can enjoy a bonfire, s'mores, refreshments and a time for sharing how God has been good over the past year.

"The Road Rally is a great visual for how the Lord helps us along the 'highways' of our own lives," Lindwall said. "God gives us peace and reassurance as we navigate 'potholes' and 'detours' that can cause us stress and pain when we try to go on our own. This event is a chance to laugh, have fun, make new friends and be encouraged."

They will also give women a chance to grab a shoe box to fill for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.

To RSVP, contact Lindwall at 906-284-3747 or Peggy Smith at 906-284-0820. More information can also be found on the CCW Facebook pages.

Lindwall also encouraged women to save the date for the annual Craft Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at First Baptist Church on Selden Road in Iron River. Women can return the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes in exchange for the opportunity to make a free craft.
