Florence County Historical Society raffle prizes to be drawn

FLORENCE, Wis. -- The Florence County Historical Society's annual raffle drawing will take place Friday at the museum, with a variety of locally made and donated prizes up for grabs.
The raffle features an impressive collection of handmade and locally donated prizes, beginning with the grand prize, a quilt in an "Amish Stars" design. The quilt was made and donated by local quilter Joan Spears and long-armed by Patti Wabitsch.
Additional prizes reflect the talents and generosity of area residents and organizations. They include an Amish-style rug made by Pattie Gehlhoff; a wooden plant hanger made by Matt Dagostino; a blue floral cloth-covered box filled with "Kitchen Frills," donated by the ladies of St. John's Lutheran Church; a basket of historical society interesting items, and two insulated glasses in the 250th birthday of the USA theme, donated by Ryan Chiamulera.
There is still time to purchase raffle tickets, which are available at the museum and from Historical Society members.
Raffle proceeds play an important role in helping the Historical Society care for and share Florence County's history. Funds raised help purchase archival supplies needed to preserve donated items, as well as materials for displays and photographs.
While fall is just around the corner, visitors still have an opportunity to stop by the museum and enjoy its varied and interesting exhibits. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday through Saturday through Sept. 12.
Admission is free, although donations are gratefully accepted.
The Florence County Historical Society extends its sincere thanks to everyone who has donated prizes, purchased raffle tickets, visited the museum and supported its projects and events throughout the season. That continued community support helps keep local history alive for future generations.
