CRYSTAL FALLS -- The Crystal Falls District Community Library is welcoming November with many new programs and events.
The library will host "Movie Mondays" at 1 p.m. every Monday beginning next week. Each "Movie Monday" will screen a specially picked and "secret" film for patrons. Popcorn, coffee, and tea will be available. This event is open to the public, with no registration necessary. Everyone is invited for a fun time watching a surprise film with other patrons.
The library will host a "Dogman" Release Day on Tuesday for the entirety of the day. With the much-anticipated "Dogman: A Sprinkle in Time" set to release on this day, the library is offering unique "Dogman" bookmarks for all patrons who visit the library during the event. There will also be afterschool snacks, board games and a sharable copy of the book for students who visit the library in the afternoon. All are welcome to visit the library on this day and enjoy the newest edition of Dav Pilkey's beloved series.
The first story time of the month will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. Children who participate in this story time will be read stories about fall, create a craft using dried leaves, and receive a free fall-themed book courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Snacks and juice will be served during craft time. This event is open to the public.
Also be on the lookout for a new series of passive programs starting in November in the library. A library scavenger hunt will be available with special sticker prizes for all patrons who complete their scavenger hunt sheet. Sheets and pencils for the scavenger hunt will be available in the front area of the library, with instructions for those who would like to participate.
The library will also post a weekly word puzzle for patrons to solve for a prize. The first patron to solve the puzzle will be awarded a special basket, and all other patrons who finish the puzzle will be given a water bottle sticker of their choice.
Both new passive programs are being started in the spirit of encouraging patrons to enjoy the fun of the library on their own time and at their own pace.
