CRYSTAL FALLS -- The Medical Care Access Coalition will be at the Crystal Falls District Community Library from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the final two Thursdays of October for Medicare open enrollment.
They hope to handle as many people as possible in the Iron County area. To make an appointment to meet them at the library, call 906-776-5412.
October also is Fee Amnesty Month at the library, plus the library is accepting canned goods in exchange for lost items. Come into the library any time during the month to have fees forgiven. The library hopes to bring patrons back to the library and encourage the community to check out materials.
The library's checkout policy has changed as well, with due dates on returned books, audiobooks, and CDs extended from two weeks to one month. DVDs no longer require any fee for checkout, and checkout periods have been extended from five days to one week.
