2 min read

HOMESTEAD, Wis. -- The Northern Saddle Club's annual Fall Ride, Poker Run and Fundraiser is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, at Halls Creek Equestrian Trailhead, 2450 Halls (Hills) Creek Dam Road just off County C in Homestead.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. A copy of 2026 negative Coggins test is required to be turned in during registration. Cost is $10 per poker hand.

Participants are invited to ride at their own pace, as well as meet new friends, and enjoy Florence County's horse trail network.

You don't have to ride to enjoy the day -- anyone can purchase poker hands and raffle tickets. There's no limit to the number of poker hands to increase your chance to win.

Bucket raffles, a 50-50 drawing, and Northern Saddle Club T-shirts, hoodies and zip-ups will be available for purchase throughout the day. Poker hands and ticket sales will continue until 3:15 p.m., with the drawings and winners to be announced just afterwards.

A potluck meal and campfire gathering will take place about 4 p.m. to conclude the day's activities.

The Northern Saddle Club welcomes everyone with an interest in supporting local trails and equestrian recreation. You don't need to own a horse to become a member or participate in club activities.

The club is currently accepting donations for the Fall Ride and Poker Run. Funds raised through donations and fundraising activities are used for club expenses, trail maintenance and improvements, helping ensure Florence County's horse trails remain safe, accessible and enjoyable for future generations of riders.

Riders can search Halls Creek Equestrian Camp and Trailhead on Google Maps.

Trail maps are available at www.northernsaddleclub.org/riding-trail-maps or at the trailhead kiosks.
