CRYSTAL FALLS -- Third time's a charm: After two weather-related cancellations, The Knockabouts band is set to perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls.
"Instead of being the opener for the 2026 Gem Season, it will be the closer," Crystal Theatre Managing Director Kristin Underhill said. "But The Knockabouts will prove to be worth the wait."
The Marquette-based trio specializes in Celtic sounds but also perform traditional, contemporary and original tunes from around the world. Their repertoire spans a range of moods and styles, blending distinctive instrumentation with the musicians' personalities.
Barb Rhyneer, a professional string instructor and classical violinist, plays fiddle. Her husband, Tim DeMarte, provides rhythm with the bodhrán, a traditional Irish drum, and cajon, a box-shaped percussion instrument. Dan Truckey plays rhythm guitar and leads on acoustic guitar and Irish bouzouki, using a variety of tunings to create the group's distinctive sound.
Together, the trio has entertained audiences throughout the Upper Peninsula.
Tickets are available online at thecrystaltheatre.org, by phone at 906-875-3208 or in person from 9 a.m. to noon at Stage Left.
