IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce recently had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Char’s Beauty Bar, a new salon in downtown Iron Mountain.

Owner Charmaine Goodlow has been in the Iron Mountain area for three years and a licensed cosmetologist for 10 years.

She has been an instructor for four years and a non-surgical hair replacement specialist for three years.

The business in Suite 4 of 415 S. Stephenson Ave. offers facial waxing, hair restoration and senior and military discounts. Goodlow also provides a free haircut for honor roll students who bring in their report card.

“I feel I was created to spread love through my gift to enhance natural beauty on the outside and inside. This is beyond a career for me … it’s my life’s work and I am very happy I can serve the Upper Peninsula and the community I live in with my talents,” Goodlow said.

Char’s Beauty Bar can be reached by calling 906-828-1531. The business’ web site is at www.charbeautybar.com.
