IM Walmart finishes renovations

RENOVATIONS AT THE Walmart Supercenter in Iron Mountain included a makeover for the electronics department.

IRON MOUNTAIN — As the holiday shopping season approaches, the Iron Mountain Walmart Supercenter has completed a remodel that included a new look for several departments.

The renovation was part of Walmart’s plan to spend $56 million in stores across Michigan in 2019 and the ongoing expansion of services such as grocery pickup that became available to Iron Mountain customers in June.

“Nearly every department in this store was refreshed in one way or another,” store Manager Scott Patterson said. “While the renovations offer a fresh new look, our customers tell us our grocery pickup service is a major time saver.”

As part of the remodel, the store now offers:

— State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that allow customers to test out electronics in person before purchasing.

— Modernized grocery layout, including new deli counter, hot case and all new produce tables.

— A new family restroom for customers with children.

— New signage, lighting and flooring throughout the store for better line of sight and easier navigation.

— Fresh painting inside and outside the store.

— New shelving and lower fixtures for improved store flow.

— Increased number of products in home, pets, sporting good and hardware.

–An expanded Money Center that includes an extra register and more than doubles the floor space for faster customers checkout.
