Operation Action UP sets meeting

MARQUETTE — Operation Action U.P. will have its annual meeting at 8 a.m. Eastern time Feb. 13 in the Northern Center Ballrooms of Northern Michigan University in Marquette.

This meeting is open to anyone who has an interest in economic development in the Upper Peninsula.

Pre-registration is required and can be done at operationactionup.com, by email at operationactionup@gmail.com or by contacting LSCP in Marquette at 906-226-6591.

The group also seeks nominations for the Operation Action Excellence Awards, which recognizes up to four businesses or major institutional employers. Nominations can be submitted at bit.ly/oaupawardnomination. The deadline is Friday.

Computer class at Bay West

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Computer Network Systems and Security Department at Bay College will offer CNSS 230 Intro to Unix and Linux at the west campus starting Jan. 13.

Classes will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays in Lab 264. Instructor Karl Linderoth will lead an in-depth look at UNIX and Linux for students with little or no previous experience. Familiarity with computers and the Windows operating system is assumed.
