Bay offers new miner virtual training
ESCANABA — Bay College Training and Development will offer a 24-Hour New Miner Training program in partnership with the Mine Safety and Health Administration and Michigan Technological University.
The three-day training program will cover all aspects of the initial training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48 and 46. The objective is to train new and inexperienced miners on safety and health hazards, employee rights and responsibilities and job-related safety procedures.
This training satisfies the MSHA classroom requirement; however, companies training under Part 46 must have an approved training plan.
The MSHA training will be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30, 31 and April 1.
All participants must have an email address, computer with a camera and microphone and sufficient internet to stream videos.
