TOM JAYNE

IRON MOUNTAIN — Realtor Tom Jayne has joined Harris State Wide Real Estate in downtown Iron Mountain after passing his real estate test Dec. 31.

Jayne was born and raised in Iron Mountain. After graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1981, he went to Northern Michigan University, where he studied secondary education, earning his teaching degree and three bachelor of science degrees in history, social studies and criminal justice, with a minor in political science, as well as a masters degree in secondary administration. Jayne retired from education in 2018 after serving three Upper Peninsula school districts over a 32-year period, the last 15 years as a superintendent of schools.

Having a hard time staying retired, Jayne decided to go back to work teaching social studies at the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Schools Alternative Education Program.

Jayne has been married to his wife, Jill, for 20 years and they have two teenage sons, Max and Alex, as well as dogs Rudy, a boxer, and Jax, a golden retriever.

Throughout the years, he has been very active in his children’s sporting activities, often serving as a volunteer and having coached Little League baseball for 10 years. In his spare time, he enjoys family, friends, the outdoors, exercise and volunteering in the community.

Though an educator by day, Jayne will be available to meet clients’ needs after 2:30 p.m. weekdays as well as on the weekends and all day long during the summer months.

He can be reached at the Harris State Wide Real Estate office at 906-828-1099 and his cell phone at 906-239-0318. The office is at 221 E. A St., in the southwest corner of the Moose Jackson building.
