Farmers summer market in IM through Oct. 16

IRON MOUNTAIN–Iron Mountain Farmers & Artisans Summer Market will be held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through Oct. 16.

The market is located across from the Dickinson County Library. The market is managed Nancy Schaub together with the Farmer’s Market executive committee under the auspices of the Downtown Development Authority.

The public is asked to refrain from being in the market area before 8 a.m. to give vendors a chance to set up their products safely.

“Our farmers have started harvesting their crops,” Schaub said. “This week we should have peas, beans, beets, onions, shallots, kale, swiss chard, micro grees and lettuce. Red and black raspberries will be for sale. Our vendors are also selling eggs, local honey, maple syrup baked goods and live plants. Our crafters have a variety of handmade items. D. B. Rouse will be providing live music.”

Space may still be available for those wishing to sell locally grown produce and plants. Artist and crafters producing unique products from natural or organic materials are encouraged to join other vendors at the market. The market is also open to those with locally produced food products.

Vendors will no longer be accepted on site but rather will be required to submit a completed application for the committee to review. There is a cost to join the market.

Interested farmer or artist vendors wanting to participate in the market or citizens seeking additional information, please contact the Iron Mountain Farmer’s and Artisan’s Market manager at 906-774-9223 or e-mail hsrhnschaub@att.net or go toironmountainfarmersmarket.com.

The market is also looking for musicians who want to perform.
