New social worker at IM Counseling Center

JIM GRIDER

IRON MOUNTAIN –The Iron Mountain Counseling Center has added the services of Jim Grider.

Grider is a masters-level clinical social worker who specializes in working with veterans and those with post-traumatic stress disorder and severe mental illness.

He has earned an associate degree from Bay College, a bachelor’s degree from Lake Superior State University, and a masters in social work from Simmons University in Boston.

“Being a veteran, I find it a very rewarding practice to be there for other veterans. I also know I am lucky to have been able to achieve the degree that I have, and feel that working with the wide variety of backgrounds — whether it is family, PTSD or couples — is the best way to use it.”

Grider retired to the area after 21 years in the Army. He has three daughters who live in central Illinois. He resides in Florence, Wis.

The Iron Mountain Counseling Center is at 216 E. Ludington St. in Iron Mountain. Contact the office by phone at 906-239-9918 or email to imcounseling@gmail.com or www.imcounselingcenter.com.
