PEMBINE, Wis — An affiliate of Chicago-based Brick by Brick Capital has acquired the Four Seasons Island Resort in Marinette County, in partnership with hotel operator Life House.

The purchase was announced in a press release earlier this month.

The 70-acre property represents both Brick by Brick Capital’s and Life House’s first hotel in Wisconsin and the first of several planned properties across the Upper Midwest, said Josh Siebert, director of acquisitions for Life House.

Originally built in 1905 by the Wisconsin-Michigan Railroad Company, the resort was a popular destination for visitors arriving by railroad from Chicago looking to escape the city for the summer months. Four Seasons is located on Miscauno Island amidst a scenic stretch of the Menominee River. Life House will operate a wide array of amenities at the property, including four dining options, a 9-hole golf course, wedding and conference facilities, indoor pool, fitness room, arcade, pontoon boat tours, cross country ski rentals, tennis, volleyball courts, and more.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to operate the historic Four Seasons Island Resort, a local favorite in the Wisconsin-Michigan area,” Siebert said. “We look forward to taking the reins on day-to-day operations while preserving the authentically-local experience that guests have enjoyed since the early 1900s.”

Life House and its investment partners are seeking acquisition opportunities throughout the Midwest, with a specific focus on acquiring hotels, he added.

After being closed for several years, Four Seasons reopened in 2019 under the ownership of Lakeshore Management LLC of Lakewood, Ohio.
