IRON MOUNTAIN -- A new business, Open Door Counsel & Life Coaching, has opened in Iron Mountain, offering affordable holistic services that include various types of coaching focusing on life, financial, career and wellness
In addition, Open Door can provide Christian counsel, essential oil massages and various support groups.
Owner Kate Burie said she began the business in March to bring hope and healing to those who are struggling and want to make changes to live healthier, happier lives.
"Everyone needs someone to talk to," Burie said, "but not everyone needs a traditional mental health counselor or mental health services."
She added, "Friends are great for support but coaching helps individuals gain self-awareness, identify hindering issues, choose healthier routes, and achieve goals unlike any other helping profession."
Burie envisions Open Door growing to incorporate multiple professionals. Open Door does not accept insurance but keeps prices affordable for clients, she said.
