IRON MOUNTAIN — Krist recently joined the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce, which hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new member.

Krist Oil is owned and operated by a local Upper Peninsula family, with 78 locations in Michigan, northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Five of these are in Quinnesec, Norway and Iron Mountain.

The company started as a small candy store in Caspian in 1917 that was a pit stop for miners traveling to the area for work. Since then, Krist has expanded and continues to serve communities for their convenience store and home heating needs.

Krist Oil also operates several propane plants in the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin supplying propane and fuel oil to area homes. Krist Oil is a bronze-level veteran-friendly employer that is committed to hiring veterans and active military.

Krist takes pride in being a company rooted in the Upper Peninsula, with its culture of being eager to serve others and provide assistance to organizations with similar goals. As a chamber member, Krist is proud to be part of local organizations that dedicate time and resources to giving back to the community.
