McGinnis joins Bay College as new theater arts instructor

ESCANABA – Bay College recently welcomed Dave McGinnis to the position of Theater Arts Instructor position at the Main Campus.

Dave and his wife Brook, come to the U.P. from Florida, but neither is indigenous to that region. Dave graduated from West Texas A&M University with a bachelor of arts in theater performance and from University of Nevada with a masters of fine arts in theater/playwriting.

A native Texan, McGinnis has had the great fortune to perform, write, direct, and even design across the country – and beyond in some cases. On a side note, while it may be obvious that an instructor of theater would have worked in theater, it is worth noting that Brook and he also perform musically as Oldyweds and Tiny Threads, a duo performing original Americana/folk and a few covers to boot.

Dave has worked as the Head of Theater/Dramaturgy in Saint Leo University, as well as a Writer/Contributor for Stage Directions magazine, an Associate Editor for Timeless Communications, Publisher of Stage Directions, a Literary Manager for Asylum Theater, and an Artistic Director for Stage Right Productions.

“I thank Bay College for welcoming me aboard, and I hold high hopes for our future,” McGinnis said.
