Dickinson Home Medical Equipment moves to location on Carpenter Avenue
IRON MOUNTAIN – Dickinson Home Medical Equipment Service relocated from its previous location on North Stephenson Avenue to 710 Carpenter Ave. earlier this year and recently hosted an official ribbon cutting and public open house.
“We are anxious for everyone to see our new location so they know about the home medical products and services we provide right here in the local area,” commented Randy Holmes, department manager. “We moved into this new location in January, which was not at all a good time to have an open house. Today we had a good turn out despite the rainy weather.”
The move to this more central location affords many improvements for the customer. The service is much easier to find and has ample parking in a lot to the south of the main building. Easier access for customers was one of the main reasons for the relocation.
The showroom affords a much more “shopper friendly” experience with equipment and supplies better organized and more visible.
For customers needing C-PAP equipment and supplies for sleep apnea, there is a separate room that provides more privacy when fittings are needed. Finally, there is a very large attached garage that will make it easier for staff to load and unload equipment and easier for patients who need to exchange oxygen tanks.
A high level of customer service shows in every aspect of Dickinson Home Medical Equipment Service. Experienced, qualified nurses and technicians explain how to properly use all equipment, and they follow-up with phone calls and visits for scheduled maintenance checks.
Equipment requiring delivery is done free of charge. Direct billing to insurances is provided as an added convenience, and verification of insurance coverage and benefits is done so there are no surprises regarding “uncovered equipment” after the fact.
Special care is given to Medicare claims, which can be more complicated. The staff’s primary goal is to serve both the patients and their physicians by providing a service that makes their medical equipment easy to obtain, to understand and to use so their health improves.
Staff also takes pride in the comprehensive range of home medical products they have in stock and by special order both prescription and non-prescription items are available. They provide a full service Oxygen Program and Sleep Medicine Program. Dickinson Home Medical is subject to, and in compliance with, all applicable Federal and State regulatory requirements.
“Above all we stress communication with our customers and patient education,” added Holmes. “Health improvement depends upon the proper use of quality home equipment, and we strive to give a healthy dose of education along with the highest quality service and supplies.”
Store hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Inquiries can be made by calling 779-7820.
