Hakamaki earns Photographic Craftsman degree from PPA

IRON MOUNTAIN – David Hakamaki, owner of Cutting Edge Photography in Iron Mountain, has been awarded the title of Photographic Craftsman by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

This prestigious degree was presented to Hakamaki by PPA president Susan Michal, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, ABI, at the association’s annual convention, ImagingUSA, held Feb. 1-3, in Nashville, Tenn.

The Photographic Craftsman degree was awarded in recognition of his service to the photographic profession as an outstanding photographer, educator and mentor.

According to the PPA, “Mr. Hakamaki’s degree – and all the expertise it requires -illustrates his accomplishments and talent as one of a select few. This degree is not merely a piece of paper. It means that Mr. Hakamaki has met the standards of excellence set by PPA.”

“It is an honor to be awarded a Photographic Craftsman degree by the PPA. It shows that my efforts in providing exemplary photography to clients has been acknowledged by our national organization. It also shows that my efforts, as a national educator of photographers nationwide, have been recognized by my photographic peers. This degree will allow my clients to know that their session will always produce exceptional results that they can be proud to display,” Hakamaki said.

In addition, Hakamaki speaks across the country, training photographers on a variety of topics, including speaking at the International photography convention (WPPI) for three consecutive years. His work is easily recognized and incorporates a unique style that evokes emotion from his audience.
