Lang named CEO at U.P. Health-Portage

HANCOCK – Jeff Lang has joined U.P. Health System – Portage as the new chief executive officer effective March 9.

Having nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, Lang brings a wide range of experience to his new role. He most recently served as CEO at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, Minn.

“We are elated to have Jeff assume the top leadership role at our Portage location,” said Jim Bogan, market president for the U.P. Health System. “Jeff has a tremendous amount of experience and passion. He has served in a number of administrative roles and has a long list of accomplishments. We are very fortunate to have him joining our organization and community.”

Lang earned his bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University and his master’s of business administration from the University of St. Thomas.

“I am both energized and excited about the opportunity to lead Portage and it’s more than 700 employees during this time of opportunity and growth,” said Lang. “Working together with hospital employees, medical staff and volunteers, I look forward to continuing our reputation of providing excellent healthcare in this community.”

U.P. Health System – Portage owns and operates a 36-bed acute-care hospital, a 60-bed skilled nursing unit and related health care services in Hancock-Houghton.
