Italian Fest, Tour de Dickinson work together
IRON MOUNTAIN – For the ninth year, the members of the Tour de Dickinson and Italian Fest Committees are once again working together to bring fun and tourism to this area.
The Tour de Dickinson bicycle ride is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at the bottom of Pine Mountain on Aug. 15, and is organized and coordinated by the Dickinson County Bike Path Committee.
That same day, Italian Fest sponsored by River Valley Bank, is scheduled to start at 12 noon in downtown Iron Mountain near Iron Mountain City Hall.
This will be the second day of Italian Fest, which kicks off at 4 p.m .on Friday, Aug.14, with Next Myle as the opening act.
Officials estimate that more than 350 bicyclists may attend this year and about 3,000 people to attend Italian Fest.
Approximately 70 volunteers from each organization and assistance from the community make these two events possible and a yearly success, a spokesperson said
The Tour de Dickinson riders and volunteers are given a bracelet pass for free admission to Italian Fest.
