Farmer’s Market Saturday in downtown IM

IRON MOUNTAIN -The next Iron Mountain Farmers & Artisans Market will be Saturday in downtown Iron Mountain in the parking lot across from the Dickinson County library.

The market is held each Saturday through October from 8 am. to noon.

The public is asked to refrain from being in market area before 8 a.m. to give vendors a chance to set up their products safely, organizers said.

Produce vendors will have a tomatoes, corn, and fall squash and summer produce is available in abundance.

“We are proud to feature locally grown and produced products at our market. The market has a wide variety of locally made crafts available, jewelry, woven rugs, yard art, and birdhouses. Vendors sell eggs, meat, Mean Jean’s Mustard, jam, maple syrup, honey, baked goods and in season fruit. Apples will be available from Pleasant View Orchard and Bakery,” officials said.

The market is managed by Nancy Schaub together with the Farmer’s Market executive committee under the auspices of the Downtown Development Authority/Main Street.

Schaub said they are happy to have Mike Holmes and his local honey back at the market this fall .

“We are also looking forward to Harvest on Hughitt on Sept. 26, with our hours being extended to 3 p.m. The farmers market will continue until Oct. 17, this year,” she said.

The V.A. Farmers market will be run every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Space may still be available for those wishing to sell locally grown produce and plants. Artist and crafters producing unique products from natural or organic materials are encouraged to join other vendors at the market.

The market is also open to those locally produced food products.
