According to Krista Gussert, PT, director of rehabilitation at ManorCare, celebrating the hard work of the therapy staff is important.

“Staff members strive every day to improve the quality of life for our patients. It is our goal to help patients return home to an independent lifestyle. Rehabilitation is essential to developing the right care plan for each individual patient to help them achieve their goals,” Gussert said.

At ManorCare, a team of therapists may work to help a patient recover or regain strength, mobility, coordination or stamina. “Many of our patients are transitioning between the hospital and home,” Gussert added.

Physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, speech therapists, and even social workers coordinate care plans that are unique to the needs of a patient and working with adults of all ages.

There are 14 therapists onsite at the facility, including therapists that specialize in lymphedema, extensive training in hand therapy, continence improvement, Kinesio taping techniques, and neurological rehab including, SAEBO certified.
