Salvation Army Roving Kettle Nov. 13-Dec. 23

IRON MOUNTAIN – Area businesses have the chance to have The Roving Kettle for a day from Nov. 13-Dec. 23, as a part of the Salvation Army campaign.

The campaign for the kettle will be coordinated by Trisha Peterson of the Salvation Army advisory board.

“It’s that simple, plus you can start getting donations immediately and add it to your kettle that day. That’s fair everyone has the same warning,” she said,

Peterson added that this is for a great cause, to help people with deep poverty in Dickinson County. “People that don’t have food for their table, shoes to walk in, clean clothes everyday like you and I.”

The kettle campaign was down last year so they decided to come up with something to bring it back up so more local assistance can be used to help more people that are desperately in need and well below the federal poverty level.

If you have a service organization, business, or event that would like to have the kettle, call Trisha at 774-5731. There is limited availability to have the kettle for the day so sign up today.

There is a challenge associated with this Roving Kettle. The small and large business that each collects the most in their category will receive the Kettle Traveling Trophy until it is done again next year. The winner’s business name will be engraved on the traveling trophy.
