57 veterans served with free dental care

IRON MOUNTAIN – The second annual Dentistry for Our Vets held recently offered free dental care for community veterans and was a success, according to a spokesperson with the John Fornetti Center for Dental Implants & Aesthetics in Iron Mountain.

Dr. John and Dr. Dan Fornetti, along with their team of employees, volunteers and sponsors were able to serve 57 veterans, performing more than 64 treatments. More than $17,000 in treatment services were donated.

“We would like to express our appreciation to all of our amazing volunteers and supporters who helped contribute to our second annual Dentistry For Our Vets,” organizers said.

In 2001, Dentistry From The Heart started with New Port Richey dentist Dr. Vincent J. Monticciolo as a way to giving back to the community and provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.

In the past 14 years, Dentistry From The Heart events have contributed more than $11 million in free dentistry and helped more than 55,000 patients across the country.

“Dentistry For Our Vets is our way to extend the good work of Dentistry From The Heart as a way to thank our military veterans for their service,” a spokesperson at the center said.
