We Energies earns ‘Best in Midwest for keeping the lights on’ award

MILWAUKEE- For the fifth year in a row, We Energies has received the ReliabilityOne Award in the Midwest for the superior reliability of its electric system.

This also marks the eighth time in the past 10 years that the company has been recognized as the most reliable utility in the region.

The award, which is based on performance for the year 2014, is presented annually by PA Consulting Group to utilities that have excelled in delivering the most reliable electric service to their customers.

“Receiving the ReliabilityOne award is a testament to the skill and dedication of our employees, and to the focused investment we’ve made in modern, efficient infrastructure,” said Gale Klappa, chairman and chief executive of We Energies.

“Reliability is ultimately one of the most tangible means to customer engagement,” said Jeff Lewis, PA Consulting Group’s ReliabilityOne program director. “The utilities that are proactively and accurately exchanging information with their customers are separating themselves from the pack with respect to customer engagement. Customers are demanding real-time accurate information regarding outage response, and that is at the core of what we as an industry should be doing. We Energies has demonstrated that it understands the essence of customer engagement and is consistently providing superior service.”

All utilities operating electric delivery networks in North America are eligible for the ReliabilityOne Award. The six regional awards are the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Plains, West and Southeast. Awards are based primarily on system reliability statistics that measure the frequency and duration of customer outages.
