GREEN BAY, Wis. — Bellin Hospital is one of just 115 hospitals nationwide to be named to The Leapfrog Group’s annual top hospitals list for 2016. It’s the second year in a row Bellin has earned this prestigious distinction.

The selection is based on the results of Leapfrog’s annual hospital survey, which measures performance across many areas of care including infection rates, maternity care and ability to prevent medication errors. The rigorous standards are defined in each year’s Top Hospital Methodology.

Widely acknowledged as one of the most prestigious distinctions a U.S. hospital can receive, the recognition showcases Bellin’s commitment to patient safety and quality, said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.

“Being acknowledged as a Top Hospital is an incredible feat achieved by less than three percent of hospitals nationwide,” Binder said. “With this honor, Bellin Hospital has established its commitment to safer and higher quality care. Providing this level of care to patients in Northeastern Wisconsin requires motivation and drive from every team member. Bellin received a Top General Hospitals distinction, one of 56 hospitals listed in that category. The list also includes nine Top Children’s Hospitals, 21 Top Rural Hospitals and 29 Top Teaching Hospitals.
