IRON MOUNTAIN — The Good Earth Salon in downtown Iron Mountain recently became a member of the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce.

The salon opened its doors in August 2013. Owner Kate Pearson, along with the help of her husband, Michael, and family renovated a historic brick building at 922 River Ave.

Pearson said she wanted to provide an earth-conscious, bright and welcoming atmosphere at the site.

In five years, The Good Earth Salon has expanded to five stylists, a facial room, nail room and massage room.

“I’m continually amazed at the communities support and love,” Pearson said on the salon’s Facebook page.

The salon features Aveda beauty products, which are 96 percent naturally derived.

The Good Earth Salon also offers hair color, facials, manicures and pedicures. Pearson said her team specializes in advanced color techniques such as balayage and ombre effects.

The staff prides themselves on advanced education, from weekly webinars to in-salon training.
