DCHS Women of Wellness Conference marks 32 years

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Healthcare System hosted its annual Women of Wellness Conference on Saturday at Pine Grove Country Club, marking the 32nd year of this event.

Professional keynote speaker Meg Bucaro taught how the “Superwoman Ideal” can cost women their health and happiness.

Hospital staff speakers included Dr. Adam Ryan of the Dickinson OB/GYN Clinic, on the topics of chronic pain management and the opioid crisis; and Peg Freeman, chief of physician services, who talked about choice in health care and all the services DCHS provides in the community.

The 130 attendees enjoyed a salad and sandwich lunch buffet and had a chance to shop among more than 20 vendors.

They also were able to get health information and free health screenings from DCHS staff.
