UW Extension sets workshop on USDA Farm Bill, insurance

COLEMAN, Wis. — The UW-Madison, Division of Extension offices in Marinette and Oconto counties will offer a workshop to help crop producers better understand crop insurance and how their USDA Farm Bill crop program decision can interact with their crop insurance decisions from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pound Town Hall, W8484 County Highway B in Coleman.

The workshop will provide an overview of crop insurance policy types, premium likelihood and related opportunities; an overview of the Farm Bill Crop Program decision-making process regarding ARC/PLC; and how crop insurance and Farm Bill decisions may directly or indirectly work together as part of an overall risk management plan. The discussions will be directed by Scott Reuss, Extension crops/soils agent for Marinette and Oconto counties.

This free program is open for all producers and pre-registration is not required. For more information, call the Marinette Extension office at 715-732-7510 or e-mail to sreuss@marinettecounty.com.
