KINGSFORD -- Pro Tech Lube Center in Kingsford, working with supplier Halron Lubricants Inc., recently donated $3,650 to the Dickinson Area Community Foundation's Mini-Grant Fund.

Matt Janousek, owner of Pro Tech Lube Center, said the business took part in a 50-50 competition with Halron in which Pro Tech employees participated and select a local charity to receive some of the proceeds. The original donation was $365, but Halron multiplied the amount by 10.

Pro Tech Lube Center has been in business for 33 years and contributes to more than 30 non-profits each year. Janousek has supported the community foundation for the past 10 years and he and his wife, Kristen, have volunteered as well as attended numerous DACF fundraisers. Pro Tech Lube Center would like to thank their customers who make their charitable donations possible.

Operating out of Green Bay and Wisconsin Rapids, Halron Lubricants has been in business since 1927 and is a distributor of petroleum products and services in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

"We are honored to be selected by the Janousek family and Halron, and overwhelmed by the generosity of the grant," said Tamara Juul, DACF executive director. "This makes a huge difference in a year when we could not hold fundraisers."
