Open Door joins chamber

IRON MOUNTAIN — Kate Burie and her Open Door Counsel & Life Coaching business recently joined the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce, which celebrated by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Open Door Counsel & Life Coaching is a mind, body and spirit wellness resource center that opened its doors full-time on Oct. 9, 2022.
Open Door can provide one-on-one services for life coaching, expression sessions (using art to explore emotions), and restorative touch essential oil body applications.
For groups, Open Door has art and soul therapeutic sessions (using art to help process grief emotions), a monthly community meal (building new friendships over dinner) and a spiritual growth support group.
Open Door brought on its first employee after one full year in business. Stacy Harrison is a wellness advocate offering a restorative touch and a wellness coach heading up PHAT Fitness wellness group coaching. Harrison also can provide parent coaching, for learning how to best parent children.
Burie is a graduate of Iron Mountain High School. Her undergraduate degree is in church ministries-music and her graduate degree is in human services counsel and life coaching.
Her mom, Betzy Douglas, moved the family to Iron Mountain in 1989 after opening Perennial Gardens/Extraordinary Interiors in 1987. Burie and her sisters are all entrepreneurs, following in their mom’s footsteps.
Open Door joined the chamber in October 2023 after one full year in full-time business and looks forward to networking with others and serving the community.
Open Door Counsel & Life Coaching operates out of Burie’s home at 503 W. E St. in Iron Mountain. It is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Bookings may be made online at www.opendoorclc.com.
