ESCANABA -- Bay College has set its Winter 2024 safety training schedule at the Escanaba campus.
All sessions will be at the Joseph Heirman University, 2001 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba.
Bay College has been a co-sponsor of the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Training Institute since 2007 and offers classes for the general and construction industry. Registration is now open for all courses.
-- Jan. 4: MIOSHA's Continuous Safety and Health Improvement course, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time. Cost is $130.
-- Jan. 16-17: MIOSHA 10-hour Construction course will be 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time. Cost is $190.
This program presents an overview of MIOSHA regulations and inspection procedures as well as the most frequently cited violations in the construction industry. Attendees can earn both the Federal OSHA-10 and Michigan OSHA-10 cards, while being taught by a highly qualified instructor.
-- Feb. 1: Documentation: Are You in Compliance training will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time. Cost is $130.
This course is designed to help learners understand the basic requirements for their places of employment and what safety programs apply.
-- March 12: Mobile Aerial Work Platforms, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time. Cost is $130.
This course has been approved for both residential builders' pre-licensure and continuing safety training requirements.

All MIOSHA full-day MTI training offered at Bay College includes student material, continental breakfast and lunch.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration annual eight-hour training has been scheduled as well, and attendees can choose to attend Feb. 15 or Feb. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time.
The MSHA eight-hour training covers Part 46 and 48 and is a required training for those engaged in mining activities. Upon completion, participants will receive their 5000-23 Certificate of Training.
This training is provided in partnership with Michigan Tech and the Michigan State Grants Program. Cost is $70 and includes morning refreshments and lunch.
