Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to host Innovation Expo at Bay College

ESCANABA — Upper Peninsula manufacturers are invited to explore the future of industry at the Making Michigan Innovation Expo, hosted by the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, Automation Alley and Bay College on Tuesday.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time, with check-in to begin at 8:30 a.m. in Conference Room 952 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College, 2001 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba.

This event is part of MMTC’s statewide effort to accelerate technology adoption and digital transformation in the manufacturing sector, especially among small and mid-sized companies.

Attendees can gain hands-on insights into artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning, and the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, while connecting with leading experts and regional manufacturing leaders.

This event brings it all together, including the guidance manufacturers need to implement these technologies effectively and confidently.”

The event will feature a keynote presentation by Andrew Halonen, President of Amatrium, on the implementation of machine learning and an introduction to generative artificial intelligence.

A featured panel discussion, “Cyber Risk Considerations for Manufacturers,” will include insights from Steve Mattson, President & CEO of GLSV, Curt Pennala, CEO & Principal of Karhu Cyber, Bob Scipione, Manufacturing Services Manager of Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, and Karl Linderoth, Bay College Computer Networking Systems and Security Instructor.
