VNL Lions Club a new member of Dickinson Area Chamber

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated a new member, the Vulcan-Norway-Loretto Lions Club, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Mike’s on Main in Norway.

The Vulcan-Norway-Loretto Lions Club supports a wide array of community initiatives, including high school scholarships, aid for childhood cancer victims and their families, Lions Allstate Band, youth football and baseball programs, summer reading programs, Area 38 Special Olympics, Kidsight eyesight screenings, Upper Peninsula State Fair 4-H, the Salvation Army Family Christmas program, Baycliff Health Camp, Habitat for Humanity, Norway Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, and Norway Band Shell venues, according to a news release.

These efforts are funded through community donations and events such as the Community Picnic that takes place each summer at Heights Park, most recently July 13.

The VNL Lions Club meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at Mike’s on Main in Norway.
